  1. This campaign has also inspired me and proves that good advertising can connect. And connects in a way that “just do it” and so many other great campaigns, that make you want to do better and be better. It gets better!

    The It Gets Better campaign was created by Dan Savage to help prevent the suicides of LBGTI teens. It was not created by Google. It certainly wasn’t created by BBH. All they did was cash in on a brilliant idea to make an ok ad. Don’t over estimate the power, influence and intentions of the agency. This is an ad to win an award. It Gets Better was a campaign to save lives.

    Hi Vic.
    For me, the job of advertising isn’t always about creating from scratch and sometimes more about reflecting back/amplifying stuff that’s out there in the world. The genius behind the whole It Gets Better movement was clearly Dan Savage. But the (advertising) genius of BBH was to recognise that and celebrate/amplify it with this ad. The SBTV ad works in the same way. Jamal Edwards is a force of nature, an absolute media genius.
